Periyar Bamboo Rafting Expedition

Venture deep into the protected heartland of the Western Ghats. Our Periyar Bamboo Rafting Expedition is a mid-range wilderness immersion that seamlessly blends an active forest trail hike with panoramic water-based navigation.
Led by armed state forest guards and native community trackers, you will navigate dense evergreens and elephant-grass valley borders before boarding traditional, custom-crafted bamboo rafts. As you float silently across the vast catchment lake, you gain unhindered panoramic views of wildlife tracking lines along the shore—routinely spotting herds of Gaur, wild boar, and wild elephants bathing in the shallows.
What the Expedition Includes:
Full official Periyar Tiger Reserve trekking & rafting permit allocations
Accompanying armed forest department rangers and expert community guides
3 hours of guided forest trail tracking paired with a 2-hour lake rafting loop
Packed eco-friendly field refreshments and bottled mineral water
⚠️ Group Logistical Note: Government park regulations strictly limit each trail team to a maximum of 6 guests. For our 4-room, 8-guest group bookings, your digital portal will automatically structure this excursion as a dual-team parallel booking. You will be assigned two independent forest rangers and travel in tandem to preserve safety and silent tracking protocols.
